A marvellous traditional liquorice sweet most probably the best you’ll ever try! Soft in texture with a lovely liquorice flavour. Used in a dish on the Great British Menu TV programme.

Also known as Pomfret cakes and well known for being stamped with the image of Pontefract Castle. Did you know that the city of Pontefract in Yorkshire was the furthest north Liquorice was ever grown for the production of Liquorice sweets!
Proper Pontefract cakes (not leathery!) A traditional liquorice sweet just as you remember.

Pontefract Cakes are used in TV Baker Paul Hollywood's Liquorice Sponge Pudding (see his book 'Pies & Puds'!)
